Project 2

Module 2

Project 2 action research and ideation phase for children's nutritional buddy and nutritional tracking app.

Workshop 1

We planned how to move forward through each milestone by creating a shared schedule.

Here, we set deadlines for each task and assigned responsibilities. This shows how I tracked and marked my completed work for the week. This is how we documented and shared our research together using Figma.

Project Management

These examples highlight our project management approach it was the backbone of our process, helping us stay organized, aligned, and accountable.

Workshop 2

For Module 2, we continued using the action research approach introduced in Project 1, and we plan to carry it into Project 3.

This shows our first cycle, which focused mainly on research. In Cycle 2, we began dividing tasks, I worked on circuits and Raspberry Pi connections, while also contributing to the app’s UI experience. This final image shows our ongoing communication, where we updated each other on progress, challenges, and next steps.

Action Research Testing

Action research was especially valuable in a group setting, helping us follow a structured process and produce stronger outcomes.

Action Research Cycle 1

Here, I refined and updated the “Buddy” concept while narrowing down our target age group. This shows the research I conducted and how it informed my design decisions. This research explores how both parents and children interact with the system parents using the app, and children using the buddy.

Action Research Cycle 2

Here, I gathered inspiration from platforms like Pinterest and nutritional websites to shape early interaction ideas. From this research, I selected wireframes and tested them with friends and family to understand what users find important in a nutritional app. Based on that feedback, I refined the wireframes and mapped out a user flow aligned with user needs.

Prototype Research and Development

This was my final Project 2 paper prototype, which I tested to evaluate usability and identify gaps. Moving forward, I will apply this feedback into a digital prototype using ProtoPie.

This shows all the wireframes I created for the paper prototype, along with valuable feedback that helped catch issues I might have otherwise overlooked.
